sell whole or break? what ya think

Post by 1040EXUP »

Ok bought this as a non starter off evilbay recently - er fresh fuel down the carbs, charged battery and hey presto she runs - a little ruff at the moment (carbs need balancing)...... took her for a little spin this morning..... Hmmmm suppose I shouldn't have expected her to compare to my 1040

question is... simple break her or flog her off as she is? I would need to put her thru an MOT, think the rear shock (ohlins) needs sorting but other than that she's ok - a good old polish, new oil etc etc ....

thoughts anyone?

I was toying with slotting in my 1040 motor.....but not sure if I can be arsed

It looks pretty sweet to me.

Surely you'd need to be more arsed to break and flog the bits than to bung in a 1040. hint hint. :unibrow: :D

Too good to break down, would be a sin.
Balance carbs, Check her out all over, Sit on it for another couple of months and sell it and make good money.
There's one like that up the road from me and the pictures dont do it justice,It looks a cracker.

is it a early model 93 or 94 cos front forks are silver on later models they were gold with ohlins bits in them also on the later ones they had ohlins rear shock if it dont say ohlins on it then its yamahas copy(ohlins loads of adj on them ) and cheaper to rebuild may even have a good one knocking about in the shed

droppin the motor and putting the 1040 in isnt much work - espec if FREAK gets me the plates made up :D but it would mean I'd have to break my 1992 RU
