well i took the pump out, everything looked ok. replaced all the orings and housing seal. didnt leak a drop of oil or coolant while sitting there statically. turned it on to burp the coolant and started leaking oil. im guessing it has failed internally allowing oil to pass through to the weep hole. ...

Re: Coolant pump

There is a witness hole in the body of the pump, it would normally show coolant as the coolant around the seal is pressurised but the oil is only splash fed to the bearing, The oil seal is on the body of the pump itself and is very easy to replace after removal of the pump https://i.imgur.com/afQws...

Welcome home! You found this FZR in Japan? I though they had engine size restrictioins there... Regarding the intake rubbers, not sure you have the restrictors, as this was specific for the 100HP versions (such as in France, but maybe also in other countries, I don't know for sure...). But it is tr...

New Guy

Hi all, Thanks for letting me in. Im a Marine stationed in Japan and came across a 1990 FZR with just 13k kilometers. Im eager to get riding and tinkering. I guess my first order of business is the R1 caliper swap and possibly removing the rubber "restrictor" in the intake couplers (can't ...
