Don't bother, all Japanese bikes since time began have valve seats for unleaded petrol so totally unessasary . true enough except the inlets on 1000ccFZRs seem to suffer undue wear and tear and I was thinking about using some additive to perhaps prolong the inlet "valve clearance life". :...

Inletvalve clearance loss

hello on the board!
Everyone knows the additives used in cars from the 70ies to protekt their valves from the effects of modern petrol,but what about using it in the FZRs to prolong valve life.
Any idears on this anyone?

well godt the head and cylblock off again to access the damaged tensioner guide,and it looks like the bottem end will have to be split to gain access to the two bolts holding the hinge-thing at the bottem of the guide.Doesent that open a can of worms!

Nice 2 know the gaskets are reusable since they is pretty spensive.
Its only the guide that the tensioner acts on thats u/s the others look fine,the motor only has 80k onit and som 15-20K since t valves were done :(

Hey Folks Have just discovered that the guide(the long curved one) in the motor I just fitted barrel and head to is trash :crybaby: - Any way to change it without tearing down the top again? - could the end of the guide perhaps be accesed from underneath,thru the sump? - And if it comes to that,can ...
