I think the external oil cooler on a 3GM FZR1000 Genesis is plumbed into the oil pan/sump. I would think it is possible to fit the sump from the FZX or even FZ750 without cooler outlets thus enabling you to do away with the cooler.

I had this with my first Fazer 1000. Bottom yoke was bent which was easy enough to find once I took it off & placed it on a flat surface. Unfortunately for me a straight one still didn't solve the problem as the head stock was also bent! :crybaby:
Broke the bike for spares & bought another.

Lovely to see those little 50's. I learned to ride on a red MT50 when I was around 14. My mate had a black MB50 when we were 16 so this pic is very appealing to me.

I'd be tempted to buy a ropey pair of standard end weights & have them machined down.
I suffer with pins & needles in my left hand slightly whilst riding my Fazer 1000 but a pair of grip puppies fitted over my standard grips helps a lot.

Good man. I think I saw those two bikes on ebay last month. I bought a 1000 Genesis last year in boxes & have very nearly finished putting it back together. my mate went out & bought a 750 within weeks of me getting mine. 750 has better, more adjustment on front forks & ally clip ons. I ...

I don't think anyone can expect the forum to be heaving with new posts for all the reasons stated. Niche market, life getting in the way, bikes all working nicely etc. Feel like a bit of a gate crasher myself despite owning a RU model exup. It's my least favourite (most neglected) bike at the moment...

Wanted steel water pipe Genesis 1000

A long shot but I'm after the steel pipes that run across the back of the cam cover. They come from the back of the head in two places & run across to the right towards the thermostat housing. Seems they have a tendency to corrode after 31 years. Who knew. I'm in Redditch, Worcestersh...

Genesis 1000 fuel pump location

I'm just wondering if anyone has or has owned a Genesis 1000 FZR and can tell me how/where the fuel pump mounts to it? Bought the bike without one & it doesn't seem to have the necessary brackets to mount it where my exup pump goes. Can't find a bean on the internet about it.
Thanks chaps.

if it's the same bloke who I met at sliders guest house in Germany who drilled holes in everything on his R1 about 8-9 years ago then he is/was ever so slightly obsessed with weight saving. Andy rings a bell. Guest house owner (Brendan) used to have the fastest unofficial lap there on a bike until h...

Not FZR but close & relevant I think. I modified my FZ750 with (amongst other things) a TRX 850 seat unit. Built a new subframe from box section, chopped off as much of the original rear frame as I dared & welded my home made lash up to it. The best coolant reservoir I could find was the TRX...

I would do a compression test on all 4 pots. 140-160 is considered healthy as I recall. Considerably less on any one of them & I would expect it to cause starting problems for sure.
