Hello moi again

Is there a way i can check my water pump is working without taking it off.

Im just concerned about the heat on the frame i just dont remember it being there before and dont want to hurt the bike.

The radiator is getting hot so i assume the thermostat is working as its letting water to the rad just want to make sure its getting circulated.

Any ideas or help welcome

My thinking is to always start with th easy stuff.
First thing with the cooling system is check for leaks and make sure there is no air in it. It's easy to drain and refill with correct "antifreeze".

The frame on my old exup used to get really hot, I just put it down to the fact there was a bloody hot engine bolted to it.
I never had any overheating problems in the time I owned it either.

If you remove the radiator cap and start the bike, until the engine warms up, you wonít see any movement of the coolant in the rad apart from it will gradually overflow as it expands.

When the engine gets up to temp and the thermostat starts to open youíll see the coolant start to flow about and itíll overflow quite alot, this is because the pump it being allowed to flow the coolant around the system.

If your coolant pump shaft is broken and not causing a flow, when the thermostat opens you wonít see any coolant moving about.

Itís very unlikely that the pump has stopped working.

Or you could start the bike and get it up to temp, feel the lower rad hose, if it starts to get hot, the coolant is flowing around the system and the pump is working.
