did a bit of homework about the topic some time back and later saw the article in Practical Sportsbike mag about using them to clean up your carbs

I decided to invest in one of the cheapo items from ebay, largest tank for best price. Cost around 30 and a bottle of solution for about a fiver (if my memorys any good)

Well, having probs starting the rebuilt KX125 (was an unknown entity when we bought it and a non runner). Have checked the obvious, spark, fuel, compression so stripped off the carb for a better look. Inside it was filthy...a thick coat of sludge everywhere.
i dragged out the sonic tank, filled with water and inserted another tank in the mmiddle that is just about big enough to take the whole carb.

A few cycles later and the carb looks well clean. I've checked all the jets and visible orifaces and they all seem to be spotless so its a thumbs up from me.

Check out the amount of crap in the water when done bearing in mind it was crystal clear to start with

Picked up one of those cleaners myself from Aldi a few months ago - but fluid? Where from Stig? Must get me some of that too.
